Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Jackson, TN. This role involves supporting a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment, providing technical assistance to approximately 100 end users. The successful candidate will work with various IT hardware and software, including Zebra printers, RF scanner guns, and standard desktop infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-User Support:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for approximately 100 end users, ensuring quick resolution of hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to and manage IT service requests and incidents using ticketing systems.
- Hardware Support:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
- Support and maintain Zebra printers and RF scanner guns in a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
- Ensure proper functionality of label printing devices and scanning equipment critical to operations.
- Software Support:
- Manage and deploy software applications using tools like Microsoft SCCM.
- Troubleshoot and support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and Office Suite.
- Assist with password resets and Active Directory account management.
- Networking and Infrastructure:
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues for wired and wireless devices.
- Collaborate with the IT team on local network configurations and updates.
- Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets.
- Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT staff, vendors, and end users to improve IT processes and resolve complex issues.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a related IT role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Hands-on experience with Zebra printers and RF scanner guns is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with SCCM for software deployment and updates.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
- Prior experience supporting hardware in a warehouse or distribution setting.
